For us at Innoplast, a major tenet of being a good business is doing good as a business. We recognize the importance of giving back to our community, of being responsible citizens, and trying to do good in the world. That's why in 2012 we started our 1% in November campaign where we offered 1% of sales to a local charity we firmly believe in: the Northern Ohio Chapter of the ALS Association. Since then our customers have helped us grow to a place where we can expand our giving to both a 1% in November and a 1% in May, which happens to be ALS awareness month.
For an illness that is rather rare it seems as if each of us at Innoplast have been touched by this disease. We've lost family members, watched friends battle, and done our best to support families struggling through the changing needs of their loved one. Through all of this we've realized the importance of continuing to support organizations that ease the burden of ALS patients and their families.
The incredible success of the Ice Bucket Challenge in 2015 put a national spot light on the disease and was a major victory for funding treatment research, but unfortunately the fight isn't over. That's why we continue to give. By donating to the Northern Ohio Chapter of the ALS Association we're funding both research for a cure and helping meet the immediate needs of people in our communities. This organization helps provide patients with medical equipment, families with support groups and respite care, and education for the general public; all important components to beating ALS.
That's why we're proud to dedicate 1% of this May's sales to the Northern Ohio Chapter of the ALS Association. If this organization's mission speaks to you as well you can find out more at their website or make a donation here.
