  • 5 Things to Consider with Parking Blocks

The addition of parking blocks to your parking lot can be the perfect finishing touch, but sometimes our customers don't know what type of parking block will best suit their needs. Here are a few things to consider when deciding whether our plastic or rubber parking blocks will be the newest addition to your facility.

    1. Our plastic parking blocks are solid plastic                                                                                  Our rubber parking blocks have a honeycomb structure underneath

    2. The rubber parking blocks have just a bit more flexibility to conform to pavement better than the plastic.

    3. Both plastic and rubber blocks come with mounting hardware for asphalt or concrete installations.

    4. The plastic parking blocks are available in: Yellow, Gray, Blue, and Black                              The rubber parking blocks are available in: Black with Yellow reflective stripes

    5.  Our plastic parking blocks come in 4 different sizes                                                                  Our rubber parking blocks are available in a 6ft length.

  • 5 things to consider with Stainless Steel

Many of our customers love the high end look of stainless steel bollards, but many of them aren't sure about what options are available or how to choose the best bollard for them. So here are 5 things to consider when shopping for stainless steel:

    1. The overall size of the bollard

    • What diameter would look best or best serve your purpose
    • What is the total length you require, sometimes it's best to check the local code to determine how much of the bollard must be buried below grade.

    2. Removable or Fixed Bollard

    • Will you ever want to remove the bollard to allow traffic, either pedestrian or vehicular, through the area.

    3. Flat top or Dome top

    4. Brush or Satin Finish

    5. Time Frame

    • Most stainless bollard have a lead time of 8-15 weeks. Make sure you order in plenty of time to meet project deadlines.

  • New Technology for Parking Spots Detect Non-Disabled Drivers

Too often non-disabled drivers use spaces reserved for the handicapped, but thanks to New Zealand's Car Parking Technologies (CPT) those drivers could be caught!

The company developed a system in which disabled drivers' vehicles will have an electronic tag that is detected in handicapped parking spots when a vehicle pulls in. If a vehicle doesn't have the tag that sensors the handicapped parking spots parking enforcement personnel will be notified.

The system has not yet been used by any clients, but CPT reports the technology is ready to go and could be in use early this year.
